Edit is the creation of Chorley-born Phil Rose (The Refuge, Jaegerossa, Platinum City, Midnight Riot), conceived in a local bar over 12 after Phil noticed the growing scene in remakes and edits of house, funk, soul and disco. The night quickly moved to its spiritual home at Baku in Charnick Richard (near Chorley) with Phil & Andy Nic as main promoters. They achieved great success at this tiny venue (only 300 cap) attracting acts such as Dave Lee (FKA Joey Negro), Hot Toddy, Grant Nelson, DJ Spen, Graeme Park, Julie McKnight, Booker T and Greg Wilson Famously Greg Wilson’s infamous Glitterbox mix, which has received hundreds of thousands of plays, was recorded at “Edit”. Edit have since hosted parties all over UK and and Europe, from Manchester venues Gorrilla ( with Spen and Karizma), The Refuge basement, and more recently hosting the terrace at the infamous Come As You Are weekender with disco royalty The Reflex and John morales. Edit is always inclusive, not exclusive, welcoming all with a a policy of "if it’s good music the genre doesn’t matter!" Entering its 11th year, this well regarded night is going from strength to strength and shows no signs of stopping.
